I just can't seem to get it right, or am I just too tired, to try? Pressed beneath the weight of every mistake that I hide. I couldn't look the other way, with all that you've done. Not this time. I'm haunted by a past that was over long before it had begun and I'm still trying to forget, but I could never forgive what you've done. All the same, you had every chance to make amends. The choice was always yours and yours alone. You let it swallow you whole. Where were you when I needed you the most? You were always just a ghost.
Learn to let it go.
I just can't give up that ghost. I never could. I never will. I did everything I could to stand beside you, but you were frozen by a fear you couldn't shake. So afraid that I would be the one to leave you, but in the end you were the one to walk away. How could I expect you to stay when all you ever do is push the world away? Where were you when I needed you the most? You were gone. Just a ghost. Everything we love will leave, or so it seems, in the end. If everything we need is fleeting away, will we ever be whole again?
Leave.
I will never be home again.
